Edison Jazz Fest

The Edison Jazz Fest (EJF) is a new annual jazz festival dedicated to uplifting the work of unsung jazz greats. We have found a home for this festival in the Edison neighborhood of Kalamazoo, where there is a pressing need and desire for accessible arts events. This festival will feature world-class performances, enriching lectures and workshops, and community-building events including a block party, all of which will be free and open to the public. This year, we are celebrating the music of Herbie Nichols (1919–1963), a singularly creative Black composer-pianist of the highest order. The first annual EJF will take place in and around Edison, September 12th–18th, 2022.
