KALAMAZOO, MICH.- The BACC would like to thank all those who made the 2014 Black Arts Festival a major success.The hard work and dedication of the Kalamazoo community paid off in a huge way. Interim Executive Director, Yolonda Lavender, stated,

“The festival was very successful. We were able to build on the legacy the
BACC already established while implementing new and fresh ideas.”

A tremendous thank you to our volunteers, vendors, sponsors, staff, community leaders, performers, and participants for making the Black Arts Festival a highlight of the summer. We are very proud of the positive response to the Black Arts Festival and we’re committed to continuing the success of Black Arts & Cultural Center and its mission “to develop potential and creativity in minorities in the Kalamazoo area, advance the awareness of Black artistic ability, preserve Black cultural heritage and enhance the interactions among diverse groups in the community.”
